David M. Smith leads Meyers Roman’s Civil & Commercial Litigation Practice, where he represents individuals, businesses, and government entities in high-stakes disputes spanning employment law, business litigation, civil rights defense, and complex claims. With experience in state and federal courts, as well as proceedings before the Ohio Civil Rights Commission and EEOC, David is known for his strategic thinking and relentless advocacy.
In addition to his litigation practice, David provides proactive counsel to clients on risk management and employment compliance — including matters related to the FMLA, anti-discrimination laws, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. He is deeply valued for his pragmatic advice, strong writing, and clear communication style.
