Hunter W. Benson is a Partner in the Firm’s Business and Corporate practice group, where he advises clients on a wide range of corporate transactions, from initial formation and funding to mergers, acquisitions, and strategic growth initiatives. Known for his practical approach and sharp legal insight, Hunter helps business owners navigate complex legal challenges while mitigating risk and achieving their goals.

In the mergers and acquisitions space, Hunter advises both buyers and sellers — from closely held companies to larger corporate entities — on all aspects of transactions, including due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, and post-closing integration. With a practical approach and keen understanding of business drivers, he helps clients navigate transactions smoothly while managing legal risk and preserving deal value.

He also maintains a significant commercial real estate practice, regularly representing institutional lenders in a variety of financing transactions. These include construction loans, permanent loans, and mezzanine financing, often involving office, retail, multifamily, and industrial properties. Hunter is experienced in handling loan documentation, title and survey review, and closing coordination, and is known for his attention to detail, and commitment to protecting lender interests while facilitating timely closings.
