Experience
As a seasoned member of the firm, Carly Glantz primarily handles the day-to-day operations of the firm’s Estate Planning and Administration practice group. In this multi-faceted role, Carly works collaboratively with firm clients to meet and achieve their respective estate planning goals in a comprehensive manner that is both specifically tailored to each client’s individualized gifting intentions as well as cognizant of asset protection and long-term portfolio management goals. In this regard, Carly regularly drafts and oversees the creation of wills, trusts, charitable gifts, living wills, and powers of attorney for clients of all income levels, as well as works closely with MRFL’s Corporate and Taxation practice group to provide both lifetime and post-mortem tax planning and business succession planning to high-net-worth individuals and closely held business owners.
As an additional component of the firm’s Estate Planning and Administration department, Carly regularly handles matters of probate estate administration and guardianship proceedings in counties throughout Northeast Ohio. Carly also regularly handles matters related to Trust Administration, both providing counsel and assistance to named trustees with regard to fulfillment of their respective fiduciary roles in a manner that both satisfies the deceased grantor’s intent and complies with the statutory requirements mandated under Ohio law.
Finally, with a background in the firm’s litigation department, Carly also has unique insight into oversight of pre-litigation probate related disputes as well as continues to represent and counsel firm client in matters of probate litigation, including but not limited to, claims of undue influence, diminished capacity, and breach of fiduciary duty.
Though a native Clevelander and a graduate of Orange High School, Carly received her B.A. from the University of Michigan and her J.D. degree from the DePaul University College of Law. As such, Carly began her career in Chicago, Illinois and continues to maintain state and federal licensure in both Ohio and Illinois. Outside of the office, Carly enjoys connecting with friends and spending time with her family – especially her two-year old daughter, Logan.
